Aircraft section

realism edits vary greatly from release to release and could be horrible & unstable

inside the [aircraft].dat file
IDENTIFY is the name used in mission file .yfs

realism updated planes have the suffix *
IDENTIFY "F9F-5_PANTHER*"
once a name is defined in the .dat file
it should not be changed because mission files use the IDENTIFY name not the filename

I'll be also using War Thunder's wiki for additional specifications, they could be wrong or biased (especially with Soviet planes)

Aircrafts are enabled by .lst files found in the
ysflightrealism/aircraft folder

example:
aircraft_1948.lst
user/realism/aircraft/f4u5.dat user/oranleed/f4u.dnm user/oranleed/f4ucoll.srf user/oranleed/f4ucockpit.srf user/oranleed/f4ucoarse.dnm
user/realism/aircraft/f4u5(air).dat user/oranleed/f4u.dnm user/oranleed/f4ucoll.srf user/oranleed/f4ucockpit.srf user/oranleed/f4ucoarse.dnm
.dat is specs (it can also refer to instrument panels, turrets)
.dnm 3d shape
.srf collision surface
.srf cockpit design
.dnm coarse object for long range visuals

aircraft data files are in folder
ysflightrealism/user/realism/aircraft

In release 25 the following years are activated
1946
1947
1948
1949
1950
